Weekend Events: Bike Classics, Comedy Festivals & More

Grab your bike or place yourself in the first Maryland Bike Classic this weekend. The race will take place on Sunday, but there will be bike races at the weekend.
Plus, visit one of the many comedy venues in Glamor City as part of the Baltimore Comedy Festival.
Maryland Bike Classic, Thursday, September 1 through Sunday, September 4, at various locations. The inaugural Maryland Bike Classic starts on Sunday from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with a host of bike-related events taking place over the weekend, including a community Bike Jam on Thursday from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, Monument Pulaski in Paterson Park and more. .
WTMD 1st Thursday, Thursday, September 1st, 5:30 pm, Guangzhou Waterfront Park. On the first Thursday of the month, Neil Francis will perform, mixing New Orleans rhythms, Chicago blues and early 70s rock. Illliterate Light, the Shenandoah Valley organic farming group who became Atlantic Records rock stars, will also play indie rock, folk and psychedelic music. Pressing Strings from Baltimore will showcase their fusion of indie, folk and soul. Enjoy music from DJ Lemz and DJ Emily Rabbit, plus food, drink, vendors, artisans and more at the free festival.
Tour of the Catacombs, Thursday 1 September, Westminster Hall, 519 W. Fayette Street. Explore the burial grounds of Westminster Hall and the necropolis, as well as the catacombs of the former church.
Charm City Slam and Open Mic, Thursday, September 1, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Whitehall Mill. Whether you’re looking to slam poetry or just enjoy the creativity of others, the monthly poetry slams and open mics at Glamor City Slam are filled with poetry fun.
Mighty Ducks Movie Night, Thursday, September 1, 7:45 pm, Sisson Street Public Park. Cheer on the Ducks hockey team at an outdoor screening of the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks.
The Baltimore Comedy Festival kicks off at various locations on Thursday, September 1st. Get ready to laugh at the Baltimore Comedy Festival, which starts on Wednesday and runs through Monday. This weekend the festival will take place at various venues including Motor House, Charm City Meadworks, Baltimore Symphony and more. Black Panther Movie Night, Friday, September 2nd, Food & Drink at 7:00 pm, Movie starts at 8:45 pm, West Covington Park. From 19:00, order food and drinks at Baltimore Greek Grill and The Smoking Swine, and enjoy music before watching movies accompanied by a DJ. Then sit back and enjoy a free open-air Black Panther screening starting at 8:45 pm.
Bad Rabbit Ball, Friday, September 2, 20:00, Ottoba. DJ Pedro Night will play the best of Bad Bunny at the “Noche de Vernao Sin Ti” dance.
Zoo Bop, Saturday, September 3, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Maryland Zoo. Sing and dance with Beatbox Dads and two performances by Alex and Kaleidoscope. Also enjoy baby shops, inflatable toys, food trucks, animal photo shoots and more.
Baltimore Baltimore Festival, Saturday, September 3, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Inner Harbor Amphitheater. The Baltimore by Baltimore festival this month will celebrate performances by Mumu Fresh, Mightly Mark, Lil Key, Deepranada, Zadia and other Five Pillars of Hip Hop.
