Integrated Production Solutions selected LynTec’s modular product suite for distributed AVL power control needs at Grace Community Church in Brentwood, Tennessee. The facility is able to power, protect and manage its multi-zone digital audio, video and LED lighting systems from a single front-end switch.
Integrated Production Solutions (IPS) selected LynTec’s RPC Remote Control Circuit Breaker Panels, RPCR Relay Panels, and XPC Series Remote Relay Modules to address the distributed AVL power control and sequencing challenges at Grace Community Church in Brentwood, Tennessee.LynTec’s modular solution enables Grace Community employees and volunteers to power, secure and manage their multi-zone digital audio, video and LED lighting systems from a single front-end switch.
“The reality of turning circuit breakers on and off — no matter how little — just to turn on the system is not realistic. Often facilities leave their stuff on, or they forget to turn it off,” said Bryan Levy, Integrated Systems Designer at IPS .”LynTec becomes a natural, consistent part of system operation, and it’s nearly impossible to forget to turn off all equipment and prevent premature burnout, especially in churches that aren’t actively used every day.”
As many churches upgrade their AVL outfits with increasingly powerful and sophisticated equipment, these AVL systems require purpose-built power controls. While only being used on average about 5% of the week when in service, they continue to consume energy for the remainder of the week, resulting in higher energy bills and prematurely shortening the life of the AVL investment.By completely shutting down AVL equipment through LynTec’s distributed power control system, Grace Community saves annual utility costs and protects the life of AVL fixtures with an intuitive system that eliminates the legacy process of entering electrical rooms and opening circuit breakers and leave.
Grace Community lighting includes 18 Chauvet Ovation E-260WWs, two Ayrton Perseo-S LEDs, six Elation KL Fresnel 8 and six Chauvet Ovation E-910FCs.On the video side, IPS installed two squareV LED walls on either side of the stage.Audio includes a multi-element d&b audiotechnik PA loudspeaker.
Supported by Luxul’s L2/L3 managed switches, IPS installed a LynTec RPC-348 master control panel on the second floor of the church, an RPCR auto-relay panel with 8 relays at the back of the stage, and at the front of the house XRS 20 rack sequencer to ensure consoles shut down in the correct order.
Taken together, these solutions simplify an otherwise complex project, eliminating the need for an electrician to wire the entire building and no additional labor costs.Another advantage of LynTec’s broad range of power control solutions is that they support a variety of control protocols in use today, including DMX, sACN, HTTP, Telnet, RS-232 or BacNET.
At Grace Community, all circuits in each zone can be shut down with a LynTec SS-2LRP key switch at the front of the house.Additionally, the IPS is able to program LynTec’s system fire alarm contact closures to a building’s fire alarm system in less than 1 minute, in compliance with strict National Fire Protection Association specifications.
“The value of AVL power control cannot be ignored for today’s houses of worship, both from an ongoing operating cost perspective and from an equipment perspective,” said LynTec President Mark Bishop(opens in a new tab).”We’re honored that IPS has made our solution an integral part of their project. Not only do we offer reliable, easy-to-install and simple-to-use power control options, but it’s affordable for even the smallest worship organizations.”
LynTec updates Android app for RPC series LynTec’s updated Android app provides more control features and functionality, allowing users to remotely control and monitor LynTec’s range of networkable Remote Power Controllers (RPC) and RPCR electrical panels, no license required or cost.
