Mako and Minnow: New Brightline LED Contour Collection by Jose Antunes

The new range of Brightline LED spotlights is ideal for a variety of applications including broadcast studios, production studios and medium to large presentation rooms.
After launching several products earlier this summer, Brightline announced a new line of conductive cooled LED contour lights with multiple features.
Designed to match the rest of Brightline’s product line, the new Brightline Mako and Minnow luminaires are ideal for a variety of applications including broadcast studios, production studios and medium to large presentation rooms, the company said.
With this new line of contour lights, Brightline, a leading manufacturer of video lighting systems, continues its journey of innovation. Starting in June of this year, Brightline introduced the cMe3 light for small meeting rooms, the fluorescent to LED upgrade kit, the L1.3 SeriesONE light, and now four new series of LED spotlights. Loop lights are used for more focused and tangible illumination, including an elliptical reflector designed for controlled high beam illumination.
Form Factor Spotlight LEDs provide silent, fanless conductive cooling and are available in Variable White and RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) versions. Mako floodlights use interchangeable fixed focal length lenses and are designed for high beams in large rooms or studios. Minnow’s short reach makes it ideal as a key and accent light. Brightline Minnows have a compact zoom lens that can be finely and smoothly adjusted to achieve the desired beam size.
“This new luminaire line provides lighting designers with a new set of tools that work closely with our other product lines,” says Brightline co-founder Cathy Katz. “Mako and Minnow can be used as a variable white point and effect.”
Brightline claims that what sets Mako and Minnow apart from the competition is that the fixtures are conductive cooled. With conductive cooling, heat is transferred from the COB (chip-on-board) LEDs to the heatsink and then to the body of the fixture. “Our entire product line is built on a fanless design,” added Katz. “When a fixture has no moving parts, it lasts significantly longer, as is the case with many of our studio fixtures that continue to perform after 20+ years of daily use.”
Mako and Minnow series are equipped with variable white LED (3200K-6000K) and 95+ CRI customizable white chip. Customizable white light applications allow users to independently control color temperature. Mako and Minnow RGBW models deliver full color spectrum performance and feature 4-in-1 RGBW LED backlighting for the brightest output and the most accurate color reproduction.
“Our new profile lights give lighting directors additional tools to meet the innovative set design needs of today’s small and large studios,” explains Katz. “Being able to control the size, shape and intensity of the light beam gives illuminators a lot of room for innovation. We are excited to offer our customers four new luminaires to help them realize their creative vision.”
